The Artist


Dieter Braun is a freelance illustrator and children’s book author from Hamburg, Germany. He studied Communication Design at the Folkwangschule in Essen. He has illustrated for Time Magazine, The New York Times, Elle and Glamour.

Dieter Braun regularly travels to Africa and Australia to observe the local wildlife in its natural habitat. His digitally rendered animal illustrations are also influenced by the children’s books, and vintage and Japanese design books he collects. The Hamburg-based illustrator has also written his own children book entitled ‘The World of Wild Animals’.

“While most of my work is digital, I like to make it look as though it had been created using traditional printing techniques.”
